Your gift to the friends...bringing people and nature together

With an annual operating budget of over $600,000 the Friends strive to keep the trail clean, safe and beautiful for all to enjoy.   The City of Dallas owns the property, but it is up to the people who enjoy and use the trail to sustain it through their generous, private donations.  We depend greatly on our members and contributors to help us fund the daily operations of the trail.

Some Key Areas Where We Need Help From Our Friends:

$130,000 -  Landcaping and Maintenance of the trail

Mowing, pruning and organic fertilization helps to keep the trail lush and green and provides an aromatic escape for your senses. 

-          A gift of $2500 would help our plant life to thrive!

 $25,000 – Security

Police Officers are on the trail approximately 30 hours per week, year round.

-          A gift of $1,000 would help to bring peace of mind to the safety conscious.

$20,000 - Electricity

Annually, we spend approximately $20,000 in electricity to illuminate the trail, extending the days a little longer for your enjoyment.

-          A gift of $500 could help us “keep the lights on”.

 $6,000 – Irrigation & Drinking Water

Not only do YOU need a refreshing drink of water, but so do all of our plants and trees along the trail. 

-          A gift of $250 would help us quench the thirst of all living things.

 $3,000 – Dog Waste Bags

Cleaning up after our furry friends is important in keeping the trail clean and beautiful.

-          A gift of $100 could help to keep your feet and the trail clean!
